چکیده
BackgroundPharmacovigilance is a critical component to facilitate clinicians’ decision-making alter or discontinue therapy. However, self-administration of oral targeted therapy (OTT) requires fewer clinical visits than parenteral infusions, potentially leading an increase in the under-reporting adverse drug reactions (ADRs).Objective(s)To identify factors associated with patients reporting ADRs their health care provider (HCP) and prevalence unreported while on OTT.MethodsPatients aged ?18 years who received from community oncology clinic newly prescribed OTT between August 1, 2018, October 31, were included. Six-monthly follow-up calls conducted by pharmacy staff assess for gradable ADRs—validated NCI Common Terminology Criteria Adverse Events—and ungradable ADRs. Descriptive analysis was used analyze unreporting ADRs, multivariate logistic regression model utilized evaluate predictors HCP. Predictors included sociodemographic factors, severity insurance type, setting, type OTT, number medicationsResultsOf 76 analyzed, mean age 63.32 ±11.55 years, 84.2% women, 68.8% non-Hispanic white, 76.3% had breast cancer. During calls, 306 identified 22.2% not previously reported Of 63.2% grade 19.3% 2, 17.5% 3. We found that every 1-year age, there 5% decrease likelihood (95% CI, 0.91–0.99), men 11.4 times more likely report 1.29–100.8).ConclusionFollow-up served as outlet collect pharmacovigilance data identifying over 20% HCPs, which one-third moderate severe. future studies are needed further understand statistically significant differences women older population.
